Frequently Asked Questions about our charters:

When is the best time to go fishing in the Dry Tortugas or Marquesas?

That's a tough question because everyone has their favorite time of the year to fish in the Florida Keys. Whether it be in January or June. Bottom fishing for snapper and grouper can be done year-round. People that like to fish nights come in the summer time. Daytime bottom fishing is excellent during the winter months. Spring and Fall can produce both hot and cool weather. Grouper can be fished year-round as well as porgys, grunts, amberjack, sharks and mackerel.

When is the best weather?

Your guess is as good as ours. Summer produces tropical depressions, Spring we have thunderstorms, Fall can be tropical depressions and thunderstorms, winter we have cold fronts that move through. When all these things are not going on, the weather is beautiful! Basically you buy a ticket and take your chances with the weather (see cancellation policy). No matter what, if you come with the right attitude you are bound to have a great time.

How much is the deposit?

Deposits are 50% of the total cost of the trip. You must write the dates you are fishing and your contact phone number in the memo blank on your check.

What is biting now?

Just about everything.

How deep do we fish?

We fish in any range between 10 to 180 feet of water.

Can we fish at night?

Yes, Absolutely!

Can we take more than six on a boat, even if it is a small child?

No, six is the limit by law.

Where are the Marquesas Keys and the Dry Tortugas?

The Marquesas is 22 miles from Key West Harbor, the Dry Tortugas is 70 miles west of Key West.

Can we troll?

Sure, lots of groups do this on the way out. Bring a variety of lures with you.

Can we snorkel?

Yes, many groups bring their snorkel equipment. We have a dive door and ladder.

Guests that wish to go diving must have a certified dive master on board.
